John Unice directs the business, strategic and overall operations of bit-x-bit. Providing exceptional high-level expertise and guidance to bit-x-bit’s clients, John draws on two decades of experience as chief corporate counsel and as a trial lawyer in major corporate and large law firm settings. 

John’s wide-ranging portfolio includes litigating sophisticated cases, utilizing complex electronic evidence and leading digital risk-mitigation initiatives, both in the U.S. and internationally.  Before joining bit-x-bit, John was Assistant Secretary and a senior legal advisor at the Pittsburgh headquarters of Covestro LLC and, prior, at Bayer Corporation, advancing his clients’ interests in highly regulated industries.

Brett Creasy directs the company’s overall operations in digital forensics, e-discovery, cybersecurity and incident response. An expert in digital forensics, Brett has conducted hundreds of forensic examinations for matters involving intellectual property theft, unauthorized use of computer systems, harassment, computer hacking, criminal and white collar crimes, and employment class action cases, as well as arbitration proceedings and internal investigations. He has been designated as an expert in state and federal courts throughout the country, and has testified in scores of cases on a variety of topics and matters, most notably in cases involving the theft of confidential and trade secret information.

Marie Perry is an eDiscovery Project Manager with bit-x-bit. Marie graduated from Duke University with a Genetics degree and applies the logical reasoning she honed during her studies to guide clients through complex eDiscovery challenges.

Marie started her career in the legal industry as a software trainer and moved into eDiscovery two decades ago. She brings to the firm experience in managing eDiscovery projects as well as forensic collection engagements.

Freddie has traveled to over 15 states and even other countries to perform collections and examinations and to meet client needs.

Amy Weingartner is bit-x-bit’s Office Administrator/Marketing Coordinator. She oversees the company’s daily logistical operations and supports the firm’s marketing engagements and initiatives. Prior to joining bit-x-bit, Amy gained broad administrative experience at a regional accounting firm, a global law firm, and also taught English overseas in South Korea.

She has extensive experience managing multistage processes and complex projects for marquee clients to meet organizational and client timelines.
