Recommended strategies can include anything from imaging key individuals’ entire systems to the “targeted collection” of user-generated
files from multiple custodians, to capturing shared folders from a client’s server. Each case is handled on an individual basis,
preserving potentially responsive electronic data while avoiding the problems of over-collection or the need to re-collect data.
Our collection and imaging rates for hard drives, USB drives, cell phones, laptops, tablets and other external media are very competitive,
whether we collect on-site or remotely (from our Pittsburgh offices), or the device, phone or hard drive is delivered to our forensic laboratory.
Unlike many companies, we do not charge by the volume of data collected on-site; rather, we base our fees on the time it takes us to
collect the electronic data based on our standard hourly charges. We use high-speed imagers and writeblockers, resulting in the most
efficient collection of the relevant electronic data, and we preserve all electronic evidence in a forensically sound manner.
If you need the flexibility of preserving or remotely collecting ESI yourself, we offer bit-x-bit in-a-box, a kit that comes
complete with a hard drive and our proprietary software. bit-x-bit in-a-box makes a forensic image of any desktop or laptop anywhere,
which can be sent back to our office for processing, analysis and storage.
